2025 was a bit of a rough year. I was laid off from my tech job at Oracle around mid-2024. I work as an instructional designer during the day, and explore my painting practice on nights and weekends. While I wish I could paint full-time, this is financially difficult for now. I do hope to be able to do this someday. The good news is that I did find another job.

I also lost my father in December of this year, and this put a bit of a dent in the creative workflow. But I managed to knock out “Phases of the Three Moons”. By far the most labor intensive piece to date. The piece is named after an instrumental song by Swiss artist Andreas Vollenweider, released in 1984 on the album White Winds. I do name some of my pieces after songs, because I’m usually listening to music while I’m creating. This can be inspirational to me.
